Michaela Kratka, using a pseudonym LaPapula, was born on February 22, 1992 in Jihlava and from an early age gravitated towards drawing and painting. Her mom was her first role model and inspiration, as it was her funny drawings Michaela was trying to imitate.

She has no professional education in fine arts apart from a year spent studying restoration of paintings. On her own she has worked her way from the first pencil drawings to her current favourite technique, which is acrylic and oil on canvas. In her paintings, she creates realistic images of people and animals, whose faces reflect the emotions of their lives‘ stories. With her paintbrush, she brings them to life and lends them her soul, which then speaks to the viewer about the life's sorrows and joys of that particular character.

In 2018, she has become a tattoo artist and her works, to which she devotes the same love and passion as her paintings, can be seen not only on random passers-by, but also in the movie Gump on actress Jana Plodkova. You can meet her every year at Tattoo Session Silesia, where she is one of the judges of the contest.

Her role models include the Austrian-Irish artist Gottfried Helnwein, Salvatore Dali, and the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, who attracted her above all with her character and life story. She draws inspiration from all those around her who are lovingly and passionately dedicated to their work, whatever that may be.

She considers the exhibition of a series of portraits of the faces of the Czech underground in the Senate of the Czech Republic, which included a portrait of Vaclav Havel on canvas measuring an incredible 2 x 3 metres, to be her greatest success. This portrait was also exhibited at the Ilusion Art Museum in Prague, Old Town Square. She treasures meeting the singer Chris Jagger (Mick Jagger's brother), whom she had the honour to paint during his concert at the Doupe Music Club in Prague.

You could see her artworks at charity auctions, where she donated her paintings, and at exhibitions all over the Czech Republic. Since she loves to travel and can't take a step without paints and a paintbrush, you can find her creations in Morocco, Albania, northern Spain and on the Thai island of Koh Samui.
